See
the fear in the enemies’ eyes,
See
the aircraft in the skies,
Feel
the weight of the gun by your side,
Feel
the shock, terror, and pride.
As
you march, and fight, and bow your head to pray,
Remember
who you are fighting for today,
Your
country, your little girl, your cousin or wife,
We
will always remember the way you risked your life.
The
way you stood tall,
When
you just wanted to fall,
The way you steadied
your gun,
And didn’t give up until
you were done.
The way you knelt
down to your best friend,
Whose life had
come to a tragic end,
But he died proudly
in trying to make us free,
In fighting
and giving his life for victory.
You
are more than a hero,
And it’s only
right for you to know,
That we thank you.
God, Bless America!
